Since its founding in 1949, the International Fur Federation (IFF) has been the only global organization representing and regulating the fur industry. With a strong focus on certification, traceability, and sustainability, the IFF promotes ethical fur trade while supporting emerging designers and industry professionals worldwide.

Uniting the global fur industry

The IFF represents 56 member associations across 40+ countries, bringing together farmers, trappers, dressers, manufacturers, brokers, auction houses, retailers, and designers. Each member adheres to a strict code of conduct, committing to ethical business practices and compliance with local laws.

The federation operates across four key regions—Fur Europe, The Americas, Asia, and Eurasia—ensuring localized leadership and industry oversight while maintaining global standards.

• Anti-corruption and fair trade laws

Supporting career development through fur futures

To encourage new talent in the fur industry, the IFF has established the Fur Futures program, a dedicated initiative for young professionals. This program provides:

• Bursaries of up to €500 per year to support training, materials, and event attendance

• Showcasing opportunities at international exhibitions and on the wearefur.com platform

• Guest blogging prospects to share insights and experiences
